I am thrifty, creative, and when it comes to food there is nothing I wont try. I hate following recipes, I never read instructions and I am a lover of great ideas. I rarely make the same meal twice. I am constantly adapting recipes making things just a bit more flavorful and fun. While I believe that the farm to table eating style is by far the healthiest way to live, I realize that we live in a modern time with modern products that help cut corners and save time. I try to balance my desire for a wholesome living style with my desire to live an active urban life. In another life I would be a florist, or a more down to earth version of Martha Stewart but for this life I’ll have to be satisfied with the title of homemaker, wife and mother to little B and his furry brother Sawyer.
For me, this blog is a place to learn, share, and most of all challenge me. Maintaining it has been the most amazing experience. It has provided an outlet to use my type A research skills, flex my creative muscles and learn so much about the power of social media and marketing. I can’t thank you enough for checking us out and following along, and like most bloggers out there, I love to hear from my readers so please don't be shy, comment, email, tweet your heart away.
Thanks for the read,
Midori, a 703 Mommy and her little B
I started this site as a way to share my recipes, restaurant reviews and other fun family friendly projects and outing ideas with those closest to me. It has turned into an awesome learning experience and networking opportunity as well. As the readership has grown, I have recruited others to help keep me in the know, send me helpful hints and of course delicious recipes. With the launch of our new site, 703MommyandMe I am excited to officially introduce the newest member of the team, Katie!
Meet Katie: I am a wife and a mom to a bouncing happy toddler boy (affectionately to be referred to as “M” for this blog). A CPA in my former life, I am traversing into the world of a stay-at-home Mom. I love cooking, reading, and spending time with my family. But most of all I have an addiction to anything Oprah and all Bravo TV shows.
I also would like to expand my horizon on volunteer opportunities in the area. Let us know if you have any recommendations and we might just try it out.
A great crockpot recipe is Honey Garlic Chicken... easy peasy and very tasty, my kids gobble it up! I like to serve with egg noodles or rice. The sauce is thin, but can be thickened easily if you prefer
ReplyDeleteCook on low 6 hours in crockpot.
1.5-2 lbs chicken (thigh, or breast)
1/3 cup Honey
1/2 cup Soy sauce
1/2 cup Ketchup
3 cloves of garlic ( I cheat with minced garlic)
1 tsp basil
Thanks Jamie! I love it when Readers share recipes. I can't wait to give this one a try.
DeleteI really like it and I'm going to try to make a blog too!
